Profile
Gbarayorks, Nuira Albert has about 30 years experience in universal banking, microfinance banking and development finance practices, management, and leadership.
He started his career at All States Trust Bank Limited Head office in Lagos and for many years worked through the ranks, performed key roles and developed capacities up to branch management from his postings through Aba, Aba Faulks Road and Enugu branches of the bank.
He has also promoted and participated in processes leading to licensing and held senior management positions in three Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) licensed Microfinance Banks (MFBs). He joined the Rivers State Microfinance Agency (RIMA) in 2008 as its pioneer Manager in charge of Credit, Risk Management, Debt Recovery and Monitoring Department. He actively contributed to the development of the RIMA Business (strategic, operational, and financial) plan, designed the Agency’s programs and products as well as the implementation of its business strategies. He has also worked with various groups at the state level in the design and implementation of many empowerment programs. He is currently the Deputy General Manager and acted as Managing Director (DGM/Ag.MD/CEO) of RIMA from June 2020 to October 2023. He is also serving as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of RIMA Growth Pathway Microfinance Bank Limited (RGP MFB LTD), the only CBN state licensed Microfinance Bank in Port Harcourt and Rivers State. Mr. Gbarayorks was also a member of the Focal group that worked with World Bank for the implementation of Nigeria’s Covid-19 Action Response and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) in Rivers State.
He has a Bachelor of Science (BSC) Hons degree in Economics from the Faculty of Social Sciences in the University of Port Harcourt and also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Financial Management Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.
Nuira is an alumnus of two renowned Microfinance Institutes; the Africa Faculty of Microsave’s Applied
Microfinance Institute (AMI), Kumasi, Ghana 2009 class and the Boulder Institute’s 17th Microfinance
Conference and Training program held at the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITC/ILO), Turin, Italy, 2011. He has also attended and facilitated at various seminars, trainings and conferences within and outside Nigeria and obtained various certificates in banking, finance, management and other business-related courses.
Nuira is by faith, a Christian, a husband of one beautiful wife and his marriage is blessed with three children: a big boy and two lovely daughters.
